Overcoming Writer's Block

I used to suffer from writer's block and would simply wait it out while staring at a yellow legal pad for hours that sometimes turned into days. That was before moving to Arkansas. These days, when I find myself struggling with the direction of the manuscript I am working on, I take to the lake. Feet up, fishing pole in hand, out on the boat, the peace and serenity ease the thoughts that were jumbled and I am ready to write again by the time I get back to the house.
